چکیده

Color Doppler imaging is used to visualize the distribution of blood flow in the region of interest. Slight relative motion causes severe image corruption and incorrect blood velocity estimation. In this work, we propose a velocity bias cancellation algorithm based on the autocorrelation technique, which is widely used in color Doppler to eliminate the motion artifact. The proposed algorithm can assist clutter filter in suppressing tissue noise effectively while compensating for the biased velocity. The proposed algorithm enhances the performance around 3-9 dB in Signal-to-Clutter Ratio (SCR), and reduces the error of blood velocity estimation by around 69%. Besides, we propose the rearrangement scheme to increase the throughput by reducing the average number of computed eigen-components from 8 to only 2.35. The proposed velocity bias cancellation algorithm and the rearrangement scheme are implemented in TSMC CMOS 90nm technology. The area and maximum operation frequency are 3.39 mm2 and 100 MHz, respectively.

Frequency-based Signal Processing for Ultrasound Color Flow Imaging

In ultrasound color flow imaging, the computation of flow estimates is well-recognized as a challenging problem from a signal processing perspective. The flow visualization performance of this imaging tool is often affected by error sources such as the lack of abundant signal samples available for processing, the presence of wideband clutter in the acquired signals, and the flow signal distorti...

Multi-PRI Signal Processing for the Terminal Doppler Weather Radar. Part I: Clutter Filtering

Multiple pulse repetition interval (multi-PRI) transmission is part of an adaptive signal transmission and processing algorithm being developed to aggressively combat range–velocity ambiguity in weather radars. In the past, operational use of multi-PRI pulse trains has been hampered due to the difficulty in clutter filtering. This paper presents finite impulse response clutter filter designs fo...

Gaussian Elimination-Based Novel Canonical Correlation Analysis Method for EEG Motion Artifact Removal

The motion generated at the capturing time of electro-encephalography (EEG) signal leads to the artifacts, which may reduce the quality of obtained information. Existing artifact removal methods use canonical correlation analysis (CCA) for removing artifacts along with ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) and wavelet transform (WT). A new approach is proposed to further analyse and impr...
